Fresh Corn Vs Cooked Corn
Not all cooked food items are considered healthy. There are many foods and grains which can be eaten raw. Fresh corn is one among them. Both fresh and cooked corn are rich in nutritional value.
Fresh Corn
These fresh corns are very delicious and are available in different sizes and colors. People harvest corn on the cob as they can be grown almost everywhere. They are easily cultivated. These corns can be cooked in different ways such as grilling, and steaming, and can even be baked in the oven. Fresh corn is available in most of the households during summer.
People love to have this corn as breakfast, as a snack, or at dinner. But these fresh corn on the cob are the seasonal grains that cannot be stored in the freezer for long. The canned and the cooked corn may have more flavor than these corn.
If you think from the cost perspective then the fresh corns are more cheap. However, a lot of waste is attached to them as they have leaves and silk on the cob which just increases the weight and may not give the right value to the product.
Cooked Corn
It is often said that the raw corns are healthier than the cooked corns. But not everyone enjoys the raw corn. This popular cereal grain can be cooked in different ways such as boiling, grilling, steaming, and roasting. Different methods of cooking preserve different nutritional benefits in the corn cob.
The steamed method of cooking is the most preferred one as this is time-saving and easier than others. Steaming also preserves the nutrients better than the other methods. So, the cooked corn on the cob can also be stored for a long time in the freezer. They need to be stored more carefully than the fresh ones.
