1. Fish and Grits
Fish and Grits is a Southeastern dish that combines grits made from cornmeal with fried or seared fish. A combination of these two items brings together a healthy and satisfying meal that is suitable for lunch, dinner, and even for breakfast.

Ingredients
- Fish fillets, grits, oil, cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper.
Instructions
- At first, immerse fish fillets in a cup of buttermilk for around 10 minutes to marinate and add flavor.
- Then, mix a cup of cornmeal, 1/2 cup of flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and put it into the hot oil for 4-5 minutes until it becomes golden brown.
- Now, for making grits, mix water with stone-grinded grits and cook it until it becomes creamy and thick, and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Finally the dish is ready to serve, place crispy fish fillets on top of grits and garnish it with herbs if you desire.
